this is basically how i spent this week looking. i wonder what prompted two office pals to start talking to me about my “little hipster style”?

leather jacket - michael kors c/o a cape cod tjmaxx

that’s pretty much the only detail that really matters, right? look, ya put some skinny pants with some leopard print shoes, any kind will do. add a drapey cardigan, some type of thin, layer-able shirt item, and a wrapped up scarf. top with bangs, sunglasses, etc. et voila!

My second post in three days? Methinks I hear the angels rejoice. Or, possibly not.

It’s cold today, but will that fact make me wear a coat? No! No, I say! Coats are for real buttheads. If a thin cotton cardigan isn’t enough to keep you warm, you need to man up and start drinking a fifth of scotch before you get to work like the rest of us.

Flouncy gray dress- LOFT

One of my fave cardigan children- J. Crew

Getting to be a wack-ass belt, I think- F21

Basic bitch black tights- Gap, I think

1/2 a size 2 small shooze, but w/evr u suffer 4 fazzion, rite? lollolollol- Missoni for Target

So many things have happened since I last posted. Babies were born. Old-ass babies died. People got married, divorced, turned gay, then got gay married. Some baseball team won the World Series. And now All Hallow’s Eve is upon us. To celebrate the day, I decided to decamp to the library to work on a The Great Gatsby chaper 9 quiz, which is how I assume you’re all celebrating. The sun was coming through the window all pretty like, so I seized the light and took some exceedingly creeptastic pictures of myself.

I’m also including a picture of me in my totally original black cat Halloween costume. The picture isn’t even original, and by that I mean I stole it from my boyfriend.

Very pretty black and white cardi- White House Black Market

You can’t see any more of the outfit, but I’m wearing a black skirt from Banana Republic, pretty black patterned tights (Anna Sui via Marshall’s, yall!) and those cute heart shoes from Asos.

Halloween Costume deets (in case you want to be original next year!)

Super cute cat ears and paws- I made them! I for reals love Michael’s.

BLACK long sleeved shirt- J. Crew, a fine shop for all your feline fashion needs.

BLACK skirt- H&M, a fine shop for all your feline fashion needs.

Cheetah-ish print tights- Marshall’s, a fine shop for all your feline fashion needs.

Optional dog to take pictures next to- Wiley via Rich

Don’t laugh at me, but this outfit has been paired in my closet since before school started. The patterns and shape of each piece struck me as opposites and so clearly they belonged together. Shots taken in the midst of frying up some spicy sausage, peppers, onions & mushrooms on a toasted onion roll. Priorities.

Shirt: Thrifted

Skirt&belt: Merona

ok, my cell phone camera is so wack. i can’t take a picture of myself in the mirror with a flash so that’s why they look fuzzy. then i put them on here and they get so huge that they look even fuzzier. imma try to take pictures on my real camera from now on. this requires more effort from me, so maaaaybeeee won’t happen?

anyway, a girl in my office stopped me at the end of the day to tell me she liked my outfit. “it’s very urban outfitters,” she said to me. i spent a while thinking about how this can be either a compliment or an insult depending on a) who is saying it and b) how they say it. context!! so important!!!!

gray cardigan, lace dress & gray tights - free people (free people tuesday?)

navy blazer - urban outfitters. VERY urban outfitters, that is.

oh, hey guys. this is what i was wearing today. i bought these pants in 2 colors because i liked them so much. i was actually happy the girl talked me out of the red pair i wanted and into this pinkish wine color. colorful, but less loud. lydia at the 5th ave j.crew, you da best.

in any case, i bought some pants recently because getting dressed for work was getting tough. i hate buying pants but i thought i needed to be more fancy at my job. after another week in the office i realized that 90% of the people there don’t even dress up that much. i just want a little office glamour!! this post has been brought to you by #firstworldproblems.

wool pants & silk button down - j.crew

leopard cardigan with weird shoulder pads - h&m

suede boat shoes - all saints

*edit: these pictures are really big and insane looking. i’ll try to fix this next time.

Here we go on another gorgeous fall day! Its letting my hair do lovely things and that puts me in a great mood. Last night I made a mighty delicious lasagna with kobe beef and fresh my garden basil…I feel like I’m channeling my inner Garfield. Enjoy this incredible sunshiney dry day and do something with your BRAIN!
